Erosion Control

Rising water levels in the Great Lakes has greatly increased the demand for shoreline protection.  Our team of professionals have the skills and equipment to tackle erosion, property damage and encroaching shorelines.  We utilize a variety of techniques and systems to best achieve clients’ goals.

Revetment

The process of placing large rocks on a slope is called revetment.  It is known to be one of the most effective techniques to stabilize a shoreline because it forces waves to lose momentum, thus limiting the damage they can do.  Multiple layers of rocks and the space between them will absorb the water and gently release the waters back into the lake.

Erosion Matting

Erosion control matting or blankets are designed to enhance germination.  They are an effective component to preventing erosion on your shoreline.  The matting is composed of a photodegradable netting, grass seed, straw and additional layers of fibers to provide excellent holding power.  The matting will protect the seed and topsoil from water and wind erosion.
